Text-to-Self: In this chapter bruno faces some hard times. He receives some upsetting news that his Grandmother had died, he finds out that he really shouldn't be near Shmuel, and he has life and is forced to shave is head. Everyone hits rough patches in life, but some worse than others. When my Great Uncle Tom died it really affected me. We didn't see each other very often, but when we did he always showed a certain charisma. His presence made everyone smile and I will never forget him. These moments in life are hard, but it is important to find the silver lining within the gray cloud.
Text-to-Text: In this chapter Bruno learns why he is separated from the people on the fence. It is because they are Jews and he is not, so they can not be near each other. He doesn't know why, but he knows it's wrong. Sadly, we are always critiqued, By the people that we know, By title or occupation, And by the possessions that we show. We judge by skin color, Or by awards received. By church domination And by what we believe. We’re judged by what we spend, Or by what we give. We’re judged by age and gender, And by where we live. We’re judged by our past, And by our education, By the language we speak, Or by our nation. We evaluate cosmetically. We judge both fat and small. We judge by one’s appearance. Fact is we judge it all! Some judge because they’re paid to. Some judge intentionally. Some judge to build self worth, Some judge unwillingly. Beware, for there is only one, Who evaluates every stain and smudge. Good luck amateur critics of humanity, When you face that judge! Text-to-Society: Segregation is a big problem in the world. Many people are treated differently for their race and skin color. In this case the jews are being separated from everyone else. They are being separated based on their beliefs which is not right.
